2 bed 1.75 bath (2LDK), 119.95㎡, 2 months security deposit, 1 month key money

You get off the platform at Shimokitazawa Station and walk until you find a strangely well-manicured forest of bamboo and gingko trees. Look closely and inside the jungle you’ll find this white modern masterpiece of Japanese architecture. Head up the stairs in the entrance and you’ll notice something strange — there’s a tree in your living room.

This is the ultimate place for those who love nature, but don’t want to be eaten by mosquitos while looking at it. You’ll get all the enjoyment of camping with all the enjoyment of A/C. Having said that, if you do like getting your ankles chewed up, there’s a sizeable balcony outside the living room that just beckons you to eat out there.

Generally speaking, extremely modern styled apartments like this are extremely impractical, but that’s not the case in this one. You’ll find plenty of storage space in both bedrooms as well as the almost 60㎡ living/dining room. Plus the architect decided to include two bathrooms, one on each floor, so your guests or housemates won’t have to fight with you over who uses the bathroom at a given time.
